UK Community Equipment Standards Adoption Group

Interest in National Minimum Standards is widespread.

As a result, the UK Community Equipment Standards Adoption Group, chaired by Brian Donnelly, has recently been set up to champion the adoption of Minimum Standards and Best Practice Guidelines for the community equipment industry throughout the UK, with potential for Europe and other parts of the world.

Key stakeholders and organisations from across the industry including Assist UK, British Health Trade Association (BHTA), Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), College of Occupational Therapists (COT), Disabled Living Foundation (DLF), Health and Safety Executive (HSE), Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Agency (MHRA), National Association of Equipment Providers (NAEP), Royal College of Nursing (RCN),  and SCOPE, amongst others, have come together to form the group.

The group fully supports issuing the Standards used in Wales as Best Practice Guidelines in England. The guidelines will be extended to cover the retail aspects of provision.
